The INSTED was established in year of … under the able leadership of Prof.Jayakar Thomas.
The year 2020 has been a challenging year for all of us. Facing an unknown health crisis took the world by storm. Science, leaders, health professionals, organizations, national forces all came together in unison and rose up to the requirements and played an important role to overcome the critical situation. Learning was halted for a while and in came the virtual reality which changed the face of education and academics. We have been practicing teledermatology since…. and it was time for our entire fellow dermatologist across the nation to adapt to the change and embrace it. How technology and science can be combined to ease and bring change in an immensely positive manner has been our vision and to see it unfold in the medical fraternity and being an anchor to many people who could not visit a health professional in person but still seek consultation in the safety of their own homes has been true due to the advent of telemedicine.
Dermatology being a visual field makes the process more comfortable and diagnostic. We at INSTED continued with our academic activities by conducting various seminars, CMEs and virtual meets. To overcome the challenges of travel, waiting time, safety we encouraged our members to use virtual skin clinic an INSTED initiative. World psoriasis day was celebrated in October with a webinar which included talks by eminent specialist and case based discussions. This year we celebrated the world skin health day with national and international faculty gracing the occasion and widely attended by dermatologists all across.
With the advent of vaccine I truly hope that we can get back to our in person conferences and meets. Till then I urge you all to take utmost safety precautions and hope that you and your loved ones stay safe.
